Combined RCD Switched Socket and Module
Clipsal combination switched socket with in-built RCD Protection. Designed with safety at it is best to avoid electrocution in industrial environments. The RCD works by constantly monitoring and comparing the current flow in both Active and Neutral circuits of an electrical installation. Ensuring that if any current flow to earth is dangerously imbalanced (30 mA) the power supply is cut in less than 40 ms. Potentially life saving. The RCD also offers protection against costly damage to appliances by cutting the power, in the event of an electrical fault.
These combination sockets with RCD protection enable quick disconnection in case of emergencies and motor rated isolation. A neon standard on all models indicates that the RCD function is protecting the outlet. So if the neon is not illuminated, the RCD has tripped and now power is available to the socket.
