Honeywell GLC Series Limit Switch, IP66, 10A Switching Current - GLCB01A2B

This limit switch is a Compact mechanical sensor designed to detect position changes and provide immediate switching responses in industrial control systems. Housed in a robust electrostatic epoxy-coated zinc enclosure, it combines a snap-action contact mechanism with an adjustable roller lever actuator to deliver consistent switching for automation and electrical installations. The device is intended for use where defined electrical switching and environmental protection are required.

Features and Benefits:

• Snap-action contacts deliver fast switching at rated currents
• 1 NC and 1 NO contact allow flexible circuit arrangements
• IP66 ingress protection resists dust and powerful water jets
• Operates across a wide temperature range from -40 to 85°C
• Mechanical endurance rated to 10,000,000 cycles for long service life
• PG13.5 conduit entry supports standard cable gland installation

Applications

• Suitable for conveyor end-of-travel detection in manufacturing lines
• Ideal for machine safety interlocks in electrical panels
• Used for position sensing on mechanical actuators and linkages
• Can be used for limit detection in materials handling systems

What electrical loads can it switch reliably?

It is rated to switch AC up to 240V and DC up to 250V with a maximum current of 10 A, compatible with common control circuits.

How does the actuator adapt to different mounting situations?

The adjustable roller lever allows physical adjustment of the operating point to suit varying shaft or cam positions.

What materials and certification standards are associated with the enclosure and approvals?

The enclosure is MADE from zinc with an electrostatic epoxy finish and the product meets CCC, CE, CSA, EN, IEC, RoHS and UL standards.

How much torque is required to operate the mechanism?

The operating force is specified as 0.12 N·m, providing predictable actuation effort for integration with cams or linkages.

Warning

GLC and GLD limit switches are not safety devices. They should be not used as emergency stop or safety devices. They must not be used in applications where personal injury could occur as a result of product failure.

Standards

IEC/EN 60947-5-1
While IEC/EN 609747-1 covers general rules relating to low voltage switchgear and controlgear, IEC/EN 60947-5-1 specifically relates to control circuit devices and switching elements. The standard monitors the characteristics of devices, the electrical and mechanical requirements and the functional requirements.

EN50047
GLC and GLD limit switches are constructed from housing that meets EN50047. EN50047 applies to position switches with an automatic return actuator. Models that meet EN50047 feature standardised characteristics and dimensions (30.5 x 31.1 x 68 mm).

IP 66
A rating of IP 66 ensures that the limit switch units are protected against dust and low-pressure jets of water.

Sealed to NEMA 1, 4, 12, 13
NEMA 1 states that enclosures can be used indoor and offers a degree of protection against contact with the equipment enclosed.
NEMA 4 states that enclosures can be used either indoor or outdoor and provide protection against windblown rain and dust, hose directed water and splashing water.
NEMA 12 states that enclosures are intended for use indoors and offer some protection from dust, dirt, falling dirt and dripping non-corrosive liquids.
NEMA 13 states that enclosures are used indoors and offer a level of protection from oil, non-corrosive coolants, spraying water and dust.
