Honeywell 14CE Series Limit Switch, 11.8N Operating Force, IP65,IP66,IP67,IP68 - 14CE3-1

This limit switch is a Compact electromechanical device designed to detect position or movement within control and automation systems. It provides a user-operated contact change through a cross roller plunger actuator, suitable for panel mounting in industrial installations where sealed performance and slow-action switching are required.

Features and Benefits:

• Cross roller plunger actuator delivers precise mechanical engagement
• SPDT slow-action contact supports clear single-pole changeover switching
• Rated switching current of 5 A suits moderate load circuits
• Operates at up to 250V AC or 30V DC for flexible supply compatibility
• Operating force of 11.8 N ensures consistent actuation threshold
• Mechanical endurance of 10,000,000 cycles supports long service intervals

Applications

• Suitable for position sensing in factory automation conveyors
• Ideal for end-of-travel detection on pneumatic cylinders
• Used for safety interlock sensing on access panels
• Can be used for limit detection in packaging machinery

What environmental sealing levels are available for use in wet conditions?

The device is provided with multiple ingress protection ratings including IP65, IP66, IP67 and IP68 to accommodate varying degrees of dust and water exposure.

How does the enclosure material affect mounting durability?

The housing is formed from die-cast zinc which provides structural rigidity and resistance to impact for panel-mounted installations.

What temperature range should be maintained for reliable operation?

The switch is specified to operate between 0 °C and a maximum of 70 °C to remain within rated performance parameters.

Which standards govern the electrical switching performance?

It conforms to IEC 60947-5-1 and EN 60947-5-1 standards and carries CE marking for regulatory alignment.

Approvals

UL, CSA.

Warning

14CE limit switches are not emergency stop devices or safety devices. They must not be used in devices, applications and environments where injury can incur as a result of product failure.

Standards

IP Rating:
All models within the 14CE series meet IP65, IP66, IP67, IP68. This ensures that they are completely dust tight, offer protection against jets of water and can be immersed in water up to 3 m.

NEMA Rating:
Every 14CE limit switch also meets NEMA, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 6, 6P and 13 requirements.

Type 2: Allows for indoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide a degree of protection against foreign objects (such as falling dirt) and the ingress of water (light dripping or splashing).
Type 3: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain or snow). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 3R: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures primarily provide ingress protection against water (such as rain, snow or sleet). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 4: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 3 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from foreign objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as rain, snow or sleet alongside splashing water and hose directed water). Enclosures that meet NEMA 4 offer protection against ice forming externally.
Type 6P: Allows for indoor or outdoor use and provides a degree of protection against access to hazardous parts. The enclosures provide some protection from solid objects (such as falling dirt and windblown dust) and the ingress of water (such as hose directed water). Enclosures that meet the NEMA 6P requirement also offer protection against water when being submerged at a limited depth.
Type 13: Enclosures that meet Type 13 are suited to harsh environments. Enclosures can be used indoors and provide protection against access to hazardous parts. They offer protection against solid objects such as falling dirt, windblown dirt, fibres and lint. They provide a level of protection from dripping and splashing water and other liquids such as the splashing, seepage and spraying of oil and non-corrosive coolants.
