SKF Radial Shaft Seal, 50mm Inside Diameter, 65mm Outside Diameter - 50X65X10 HMS5 RG

This radial shaft seal provides a sealing Interface for rotating shafts, designed to prevent lubricant leakage and exclude contaminants in mechanical systems. It is intended for use where a resilient sealing element is required around a shaft to maintain fluid retention and protect bearings and adjacent components.

Features and Benefits:

• Nitrile rubber material offers chemical resistance and elasticity
• Rotary configuration supports continuous shaft rotation without leakage
• Lip-type sealing surface maintains contact under radial movement
• Suitable for elevated operating temperatures compared with generic elastomers

Applications

• Suitable for sealing oil in gearbox housings
• Used with rotating shafts in industrial machinery
• Can be used for maintenance replacement on drive assemblies
• Ideal for preventing contamination in bearing enclosures

What material characteristic affects oil resistance and flexibility?

The seal is MADE from nitrile rubber which balances resistance to hydrocarbons with elastic sealing behaviour.

How does the seal accommodate rotational motion without compromise?

It uses a lip arrangement that slides against the shaft to preserve the barrier while permitting continuous rotation.

In what way does the component protect adjacent components?

By retaining lubricant and excluding contaminants it reduces wear on bearings and mating parts.

Which operational environments is the compound suitable for?

The NBR composition performs in higher-than-room temperatures and in contact with common lubricants.
