3M 3625 Series Flat Cable, 30m Cable Length, 40 Conductors - 3625/40-30M

This flat cable provides a compact, multi-conductor wiring solution for interconnects in control panels and equipment harnesses. It is designed for use where multiple parallel conductors are required in a space-efficient format and for installations that demand consistent pitch between contacts. The cable is finished with a grey PVC outer sheath for Basic mechanical protection and flexible routing.

Features and Benefits:

• 40 conductors delivering dense signal distribution • 1mm pitch ensuring accurate connector alignment • 28AWG stranded round conductors offering flexibility • Tin-plated copper conductors minimising corrosion risk • Rated to 300V for medium-voltage circuitry compatibility • Withstands operating temperatures up to 105°C for elevated-heat environments

Applications

• Suitable for ribbon-style connections to IDC connectors in assemblies • Ideal for wiring between control boards in automation cabinets • Used with panel-mounted connectors requiring parallel conductors • Can be used for internal harnessing in industrial machinery • Suitable for multi-conductor signal runs in instrumentation racks

How is flexibility achieved in this cable construction?

Flexibility comes from the round conductor design composed of seven strands per core which reduces stiffness compared with solid conductors.

What environmental temperatures can it withstand during operation?

The cable is specified for continuous use from -20°C up to 105°C, allowing deployment across a wide range of ambient conditions.

Is the cable screened for noise immunity?

No, the construction is unscreened, so additional shielding or earthing measures should be applied when used in high-interference environments.

What materials are used for the outer sheath and conductor finish?

The jacket is polyvinyl chloride in grey and the conductors are copper with a tin plate for enhanced surface protection.

Approvals

  UL and CSA
