Harting Ethernet Cable, 100m Cable Length, Black Jacket - 09456000692

This Ethernet cable is a shielded, low‑smoke zero‑halogen data lead designed for fixed and protected installations in rail vehicles, buses and industrial environments. It supports Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet transmission and is constructed for harsh conditions, including resistance to oils, fuels and wide temperature fluctuations.

Features & Benefits

• Category 7 performance enabling 10 Gbit/s transmission
• SF/FTP shielding reducing electromagnetic interference
• LSZH black sheath limiting toxic gases and corrosive residues
• Operating range −40°C to +80°C for extreme environments
• PoE compatible allowing power delivery up to 48 V
• 1000V test voltage supporting high‑voltage integrity

Applications

• Suitable for onboard data networks in trains and trams
• Ideal for communication links in buses and coaches
• Used for industrial automation networks requiring shielded cabling
• Can be used for secure Ethernet patching in rolling stock equipment

How is the cable constructed to maintain signal integrity in noisy environments?

Each of the four screened pairs is covered with aluminium‑bonded polyester tape and a tinned copper braid surrounds the assembly, providing pair screening and overall braid screening to limit crosstalk and external interference.

What materials give the sheath its fire and chemical resistance?

The outer sheath is an electron‑beam cross‑linked polyolefin copolymer compound formulated to meet rail fire behaviour and to resist oils, fuels, acids and alkalis while offering long UV and ozone endurance.

What electrical characteristics support long‑run data links?

The cable maintains characteristic impedance near 100 Ω, DC resistance below 84 Ω/km and propagation delay around 4.4 ns/m to sustain high‑speed data integrity.

How is the cable suited to PoE applications?

The conductor system and overall construction allow current delivery sufficient for PoE/PoE+ with voltage provision up to 48V and continuous current handling as specified for powered Ethernet.
