Belden Alpha Essentials Communication & Control Series Control Cable, 30m Cable Length, 10 Cores - 6346 SL005

This control cable is a screened, multiconductor solution designed for communication and control wiring in industrial and electronic systems. It combines tin‑plated copper conductors with PVC insulation and a slate PVC outer jacket to deliver dependable signal and control transmission in typical industrial temperature ranges. The cable is suitable where a moderate‑flex, industry‑standard Multicore cable is required for control, audio or instrumentation environments.

Features & Benefits

• Screened construction improves immunity to EMI for cleaner signals
• Tin copper 7‑strand conductors resist corrosion and soldering issues
• Rated for 300V enabling standard low‑voltage control circuits
• Operating range to 80°C supports elevated‑temperature installations
• Slate PVC jacket provides mechanical and environmental protection
• 10 conductors allow multi‑circuit or multi‑signal routing in one run

**Applications**

• Suitable for remote circuit controls in automation panels
• Ideal for unbalanced intercom and sound system wiring
• Used for low‑voltage control and signalling in machinery
• Can be used with instrumentation and security system wiring
• Suitable for telephone and general‑purpose control cabling

What conductor construction is used and why does it matter?

The conductors are stranded, tin‑plated copper with seven strands per core which improves flexibility, enhances solderability and reduces corrosion compared with bare copper in humid or processed environments.

How does screening affect installation in electrically noisy areas?

The cable includes a screen that drains and diverts external electromagnetic interference away from the conductors, reducing noise on signal lines when terminated to an appropriate earth or drain connection.

What temperature limitations should be considered during routing?

The cable’s maximum continuous operating temperature is 80°C and minimum is −20°C, so routing through zones exceeding these limits should be avoided or an alternative specification chosen.

Which jacket and insulation materials are used and what are their advantages?

Insulation and outer jacket are polyvinyl chloride

this offers acceptable mechanical durability, flame performance typical of PVC systems, and ease of stripping and termination for field work.

In what lengths and outer size is the cable supplied?

This type is available in a 30m length with an outside diameter of 7.37 mm, providing a Compact Multicore option for panel‑to‑panel runs.
