It automatically shuts down an attached electrical circuit in case of overcurrent conditions to keep you safe and prevent damage to a connected device. As a type C module, it trips when it receives more than five to ten times its rated load of 4A, so it's ideal for industrial settings where high-power loads are common. You'll find it's compatible with AWG gauges 18 to 4, since it accepts any wire with a cross-section between 0.75 and 35mm².
