Fluke Current Clamp, 20A Maximum AC Current, 30A Maximum DC Current - I30S

This current clamp is a Compact Hall-effect probe for non-intrusive measurement of both AC and DC current with suitable recording instruments such as oscilloscopes. It connects via a safety BNC output and is intended for field and bench use within industrial electrical environments up to 300V.

Features & Benefits

• 30mA–30A DC sensitivity delivering precise low-current measurement
• 30mA–20A AC range maintaining accurate alternating current readings
• ±1% of reading ±2mA accuracy ensuring dependable quantitative results
• 100mV/A output providing straightforward voltage-based capture
• 2m cable and safety BNC enabling flexible connection to instruments
• 19mm jaw capacity allowing measurement on Compact conductors

**Applications**

• Suitable for commissioning and fault diagnosis on control panels
• Ideal for waveform capture with oscilloscopes during motor testing
• Used for in-situ current verification on automation equipment
• Can be used for DC load profiling in battery and power systems
• Used with portable recorders for transient and frequency analysis

What supply does it use and how long will it operate on a single cell?

It runs from a single 9V alkaline PP3 cell and provides approximately 30 h of operation with a low-battery indicator.

How does the device handle high-frequency signals?

The sensor responds from DC to 100 kHz with minimal amplitude loss up to that range, supporting measurements of fast transients.

What safety rating and environmental limits apply to its use?

The probe is rated to CAT III 300V and operates between 0°C and +50°C in non-condensing conditions.

How is zero offset managed before taking measurements?

A manual thumbwheel permits fine output zero adjustment to compensate for offset prior to recording.

Warning

Use of the probe on uninsulated conductors is limited to 300 V ac rms or dc and frequencies below 1 kHz.

Supplied with

Alkaline PP3 battery, 4mm shrouded plug adaptor and operator’s manual.
