Schneider Electric CAD5 Series Contactor, 10A Operational Current, 230V Control Circuit Voltage - CAD50P7

This Compact contactor is designed for control-circuit switching in industrial and automation systems, operating from a 230V AC Coil and handling up to 10A at voltages to 690V AC. It is intended for integration on plate or rail supports in control panels and distribution assemblies where a small-form, multi-pole switching device is required.

Features & Benefits

• Five-pole switching with five normally open auxiliary contacts for multi-point control
• Rated for operational voltages up to 690V AC to handle high-voltage circuits
• Conventional thermal current 10A enabling modest load switching in control circuits
• Coil energisation time 12 to 22 MS to deliver prompt NO contact closure
• Hold-in power consumption 8 VA and inrush 70 VA to aid Coil power budgeting
• Screw clamp terminals accepting 1 to 4mm² conductors for secure connections

Applications

• Suitable for controlling contactor coils and relay logic in automation racks
• Ideal for interfacing control panels to high-voltage distribution feeders
• Used for switching auxiliary circuits in motor control and protection schemes
• Can be used for modular assembly on DIN rail or plate-mounted control systems

What Terminal cable sizes does it accept?

Screw clamp terminals accommodate flexible and solid conductors from 1 to 4mm² and flexible conductors to 2.5mm² with cable end ferrules as specified.

How does it perform under short-duration fault conditions?

It withstands short-time currents up to 100A for 1 s, 120A for 500 MS and 140A for 100 MS, with associated fuse rating 10A gG.

What environmental conditions affect operation?

It operates in ambient Air from -40 to 60 °C and up to 70 °C with derating

storage range extends to -60 to 80 °C and altitude up to 3000 m.

Which standards and protection ratings are applicable?

The device conforms to EN/IEC 60947-5-1 and related international standards and features IP2X protection at the front face.
