Schneider Electric LP2K Series Reversing Contactor, 20A Operational Current, 3kW Power Rating - LP2K0601BD3

This reversing contactor is a Compact three-pole switching device designed for control of motors and resistive loads in industrial automation. It operates from a 24V DC control circuit and is supplied with a factory-fitted reversing power busbar and integral suppression to reduce Coil transients. The unit is intended for mounting on plate or DIN rail and accommodates standard screw-clamp connections for straightforward panel integration.

Features & Benefits

• 6A AC-3 rated current delivering predictable motor switching performance
• 20A conventional thermal current for sustained load handling
• Built-in diode suppressor reducing Coil transient interference
• 110A rated making capacity enabling robust short-duration starts
• Mechanical interlock preventing simultaneous forward and reverse closing
• IP20 protection suitable for enclosed control panels

Applications

• Suitable for reversing small to medium AC motors in conveyor systems
• Ideal for motor control in packaging and material handling equipment
• Used with PLCs for automated forward/reverse sequencing
• Can be used for switching resistive loads in control panels
• Suitable for retrofit and Compact control-cabinet installations

What Terminal types and conductor sizes are supported for connections?

Screw-clamp terminals accept 1.5 to 4mm² solid, 0.75 to 4mm² flexible without ferrule, and 0.34 to 2.5mm² flexible with ferrule for single conductors

two-conductor entries support reduced cross-sections as specified.

How does the device behave thermally at rated conditions?

The conventional free-air thermal current is 20A at 50°C for the power circuit and heat dissipation is 3 W during Coil operation at 20°C.

What are the switching endurance and mechanical life expectations?

Electrical durability is 1.3 M cycles at 6A AC-3, while mechanical durability reaches 5 M cycles under nominal conditions.

Are there limits on operating altitude or temperature?

The contactor operates between -25 to 50°C and can be used up to 2000 m altitude without derating.

What protection and safety categories apply to the control circuit?

The control circuit has an impulse withstand rating of 8 kV and is classified within overvoltage category III for signalling and power circuits.
