Infineon ESD131-B1-W0201 Series ESD Protection Diode, 13V Clamping Voltage, 5.5V Reverse Stand-off Voltage - ESD131B1W0201E6327XTSA1

This ESD protection diode is a miniature, surface-mounted Protector designed to clamp transient overvoltages and safeguard sensitive circuitry. It operates bi-directionally to arrest electrostatic discharges and fast transients within electronic assemblies mounted on PCB. The device functions across a broad temperature range and is suitable for Compact board layouts where space and low-profile protection are required.

Features and Benefits:

• 13V clamping voltage provides controlled transient suppression
• 3.5A Peak Pulse current delivers short-duration surge handling
• 24W Peak Pulse power allows repeatable Pulse absorption
• 100nA maximum reverse leakage minimises standby current draw
• Bi-directional diode configuration protects differential lines

Applications

• Suitable for I/O port ESD mitigation on Compact devices
• Ideal for protecting data lines in handheld electronics
• Used with sensitive interfaces in industrial control modules
• Can be used for transient protection on communication lines
• Suitable for safeguarding test and measurement inputs

What is the allowable operating temperature range for this device?

It functions from -55°C up to 125°C to cover low-temperature storage and elevated operating environments.

How many elements are implemented per chip and how is it configured?

There is a single element on the chip arranged in a bi-directional diode configuration to protect both polarities.

What package and mount type should designers prepare for?

The device is supplied in a Compact WLL-2-3 surface-mount package for PCB mounting.

Which standards describe its transient immunity testing?

It meets IEC 61000-4-2, IEC 61000-4-4 and IEC 61000-4-5 levels for electrostatic and surge testing.
