Schneider Electric LAD4 Series Contactor Varistor, For Use With Serie LC1/LC2 - LAD4VU

This contactor varistor is an inline suppressor module designed to limit transient voltages on AC control circuits within contactor installations. It is intended for front mounting by clips and integrates with a range of TeSys contactors to protect Coil circuits from voltage spikes in industrial automation and control panels.

Features & Benefits

• 110 to 250V AC control range protects diverse supply voltages
• Peak-limiting varistor action reduces transient overvoltage amplitude
• Maximum Peak voltage 2Uc preserves Coil integrity under surges
• IP2X protection prevents accidental contact in enclosures
• Compact module weight 0.012 kg enables space-saving installation

Applications

• Suitable for suppressing transients on LC1 contactor coils
• Used with LC2 contactors in motor control cabinets
• Ideal for retrofit surge protection on 3P and 4P contactors
• Can be used with CAD32 and CAD50 auxiliary devices in panels

What mounting method is required for installation?

The unit clips to the front of the contactor, allowing tool-free attachment to compatible devices.

Which Coil voltages will this device accommodate?

It operates correctly on control circuits supplied between 110V and 250V AC at 50/60 Hz.

How does the suppressor manage extreme spikes?

The varistor exhibits Peak limiting with a maximum clamp at twice the nominal control voltage, reducing stress on coils.

What environmental limits apply during storage?

Components may be stored between −40 to 80 °C without affecting specified performance.

Are there recognised safety standards for its use?

The product meets international IEC/EN and relevant UL/CSA standards for control circuit protective devices.
