Eaton British Standard Fuse, 80A, 500V AC CEO80

This tagged British Standard fuse from Eaton reacts instantly to electrical faults and stops short circuits or current overload from causing serious damage to electronic equipment. It's versatile as it breaks both high overcurrent and power lows caused by voltage dips. Brackets on either end mean you can easily mount it to a fuse holder. These also make it simple to remove. The unit is air-tight and resistant to external environmental factors, so there's little risk of corrosion or ageing, making it a long-lasting choice. A 3-phase fuse like this one is well-suited to low-voltage industrial environments and you'll find it widely used in lighting and heating systems.

• Low temperature rise so suitable to mount on high-density circuit boards

• Robust brackets for improved durability and secure mounting

• Contributes toward an efficient electrical system with low power loss

How does a fuse break?

A fuse breaks when the current flowing through its metal resistor exceeds the normal range. This causes its element to melt and prevents current from passing through it. When the fuse is operating within its normal current range, heat is dissipated without causing damage.

Eaton Bussmann HRC Offset Tag Fuses - BS88 British Standard Fuses

Eaton Bussmann's offset tag fuses (or offset bolted tag fuses) are essentially a cylindrical fuse that is fitted with offset brackets, these brackets allow the fuse to be bolted onto a fuse holder. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage measure. Eaton Bussmann's fuses are commonly found within a multitude of industrial and switchgear applications, electrical equipment, wiring systems and circuit breakers. This fuse range is suitable for general purpose use.

Features & Benefits

• The low-temperature rise enables the fuse to be suitable for high-density mounting

• Fuse links, specifically designed for the protection of equipment

• Conforms to industry standards

• Low voltage fuse

• High rupture capacity (HRC)

• Suitable for three-phase applications

• Suitable for type 2 co-ordinated applications as defined in IEC 947-4

• Low power loss, typically 20% lower than the requirements of BS 88

Why use a slotted tag fuse?

A slotted tag fuse is distinguished by the metal slotted tags that extend off the ends of the fuse. This tag can either enable the fuse to have an offset tag or be centred to the fuse. Predominantly, this type of fuse is used within installations as a "weak link". They are designed to break when a fault occurs, such as an overcurrent or short circuit - they are a safety and damage protection measure within electrical circuits.
