The Eurotherm 2216E series versatile, high stability temperature controller device has an operating supply voltage of 85VAC to 264VAC. The 1/6 DIN PID temperature controller is 48mm wide, 48mm high and 103mm deep. It has a modular hardware construction with the option of 2 control outputs, 2 alarm relays and a communications module. It is enabled with 2, standard digital inputs. The hardware is fully configurable on-site for heating and cooling or alarms. It provides heating at the output. Units share the same styling, wiring layouts and operating principles. Tactile buttons coupled with simple intuitive display formats make them easy to use. They can be used as simple ON/OFF controllers for non-critical processes, where some degree of oscillation is acceptable, or as PID controllers when stable, straight-line control of the process is required. What is a PID controller? In PID control the output from the controller is the sum of 3 terms: proportional, integral and derivative. These terms are used to deliver just the right amount of output to hold the process at the target value without oscillation or overshoot. For stable control, the PID values must be matched to the characteristics of the process. This is done automatically in the Series 2000 using advanced self-tuning techniques.
