RS PRO Photocell Photoelectric Sensor Rectangular TOF 60 cm Detection
The Photocell photelectric sensor from RS PRO includes excellent detection distance measurement sensor using TOF (time of flight) technology providing stable and reliable sensor detection. The photoelectric sensor has a plastic rectangular / square shape design plus is IP67 rated (waterproof) making the sensor suitable for use in harsh environments. Flexible and easy to operate, button adjustment, infrared laser light source, LED output indicators, one key distance setting, short circuit, overload, reverse, and Zener protection are just a few of the features within the RS PRO Photoelectric sensor.

What is TOF / ToF?
ToF concept is short for Time of Flight which is really a depth measurement reading using infrared light beams. The sensor used sends out an infrared light beam which when it hits an object sends the light beam back to the sensor and measures the time it took the light beam going out and reflected back.

Note
This sensor works on a Diffuse Polarized Reflection principle and has a special feature, TOF. With this feature it's possible to measure distances using the time the light takes from the transmitter to return to the receiver.
