Countersunk Self Tapping Screws
Countersunk Self-tapping screws are a type of fastener that requires no pre-drilling. Countersunk self-tappers work by tapping their own threads in materials like plastic, wood, and metal.
What is a countersunk screw?
Also known as a flat head screw, a countersunk screw is designed to sit flush with the object or material that it is inserted into. The head on a countersunk screw is flat that gradually tapers down the shaft of the screw. When the screw is inserted into the material it will sink in and sit flush.
Thread Types
Countersunk self-tapping screws are available with standard metric threads including M3, M4, and M5. Alternatively, UTS (Unified Thread Standard) are also available including 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 size threads.
Materials and Finishes
Typically made from steel or stainless steel 304 or 316 grades. Finishes can be bright zinc plated, clear passivated for extra protection from the elements.
