UV Curing Lamps

UV curing lamps use ultraviolet and visible light to initiate a photochemical reaction that instantly cures or dries inks, coatings or adhesives. UV curing lamps increases production speed, reduces reject rates, provides superior bonding and offer many advantages over traditional bonding and drying methods. Providing between 100 and 1000 times the intensity of normal daylight for curing and drying substances.
The UV lamps are either modular focussed or flood, and either be used as a spotlight or being part of a conveyer system.
Types of UV Lamps
Mercury Lamps
These UV lamps use a combination of metal halides which create strong radiation. The operating life is usually between 500 and 20000 hours. There are many types of mercury UV lamps with a range of finishing options.
Led lamps
The advancement in LED UV technology, has enabled LED UV lamps more predominant role with curing in the printing process, only with LED inks. LED’s have been able to double the production speed with thick, heavily pigmented inks. Also the energy savings compared to the typical mercury arc system are as much as 50% reduction.
These lamps are typically found in:
• Automotive Industry
• Electronic Industry
• Medical and optical Industries
