An F connector, or F-type connector, is a coaxial RF connector which is commonly attached to an RG6 or RG59 cable and transfers an electrical signal for terrestrial TV or satellite television. They are threaded connectors which have a maximum operating frequency of 1 GHz and impedance of 75 ohms.
Where are F Connectors used?
F connectors are mostly used in domestic environments for cable, terrestrial and satellite TV installations, due to the fact that very high frequencies are involved.
Although F connectors are not weatherproof, they can be enhanced with an O-Ring providing some weatherproofing.
